The IFAC working group
The working group of the Institute of Applied Physics «Nello Carrara» (CNR-IFAC) for the UISH project brings together complementary skills: atmospheric physics and remote sensing, scientific software development, and data law and governance.
Moreno Comelli
Researcher, CNR-IFAC
Physicist (University of Trieste), researcher at CNR-IFAC in Florence. Since 2004 he has worked on human exposure to electromagnetic fields, developing simulation software and taking part in measurement campaigns. In UISH he is responsible for the air-quality data analysis and validation platform.
Interests: numerical modelling and simulation, scientific and web software development, electromagnetic fields, air quality.
Ugo Cortesi
Senior Researcher, CNR-IFAC
Researcher at CNR-IFAC, with more than twenty-five years of experience in Earth Observation and atmospheric remote sensing. He coordinated the European project H2020 AURORA. He is the IFAC lead of the UISH air-quality activity.
Interests: atmospheric remote sensing, radiative transfer, data fusion, ozone and UV radiation, Copernicus/Sentinel satellite missions.
Valentina Colcelli
Senior Researcher
Senior researcher at the CNR and a legal scholar. She studies the interaction between national and European law, market regulation and the regulation of (personal and non-personal) data. She leads a Jean Monnet Module and is a member of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at the University of Perugia.
Interests: European and private law, data governance and protection (GDPR), technology transfer, ethical and legal aspects of research and innovation.
Alessandra Langella
Technologist, CNR-IFAC
A legal scholar working on the ethical and legal aspects of research and on data governance. With the University of Perugia group she has published studies on the establishment of research biobanks and the related legal issues.
Interests: law of research and innovation, data protection, ethical and legal aspects of new technologies (including AI applications in healthcare).
